Industry: South West Industrial Gateway

Brisbane City Council's industrial strategy, Brisbane: Our Productive City, describes the South West Industrial Gateway (SWIG) as the largest of Brisbane's industrial areas and one of South East Queensland's main freight gateways. Council expects the SWIG to contribute $6.5 billion to Brisbane's industrial gross regional product and employ 41,000 industry workers by 2041.

The strategy identifies service industries and mixed industry business in parts of Salisbury and Moorooka as one of the SWIG's clusters.

The strategy also says the Oxley Creek Transformation will shape open space in the SWIG and improve the interface between industry, established homes and the natural environment.
