Council's industrial strategy, Brisbane: Our Productive City, covers the Northern Industrial Area (NIA), where it expects manufacturing to remain important, with large manufacturers still active in the precinct. Council expects the NIA to contribute $2.5 billion to Brisbane's industrial gross regional product and employ 14,000 industry workers by 2041.
Banyo station is one of the stations shown on Council's Northern Industrial Area map, along with Nudgee, Virginia, Bindha, Northgate and Geebung.
Over time, Council expects precinct nodes with industrial and creative industries businesses to emerge at Northgate, Bindha Station, Virginia and Geebung, as public transport access supports workers. Geebung is the nominated centre for the NIA and is planned to offer services and facilities for workers and businesses.
